03 Day 4WD Camping Kakadu Litchfield Safari (ATA-NTK3)

A small group camping safari   (accommodation upgrade available) from Darwin to Litchfield National Park and Kakaudu National Park including highlights such as Mary River Wetlands, Maguk, Ubirr, Jim Jim & Twin Falls. Look for ‘crocs’ and other abundant wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge for dinner and overnight camp and much more.

Day #1 - Darwin to Mary River

Day #2 - Mary River to Kakadu

  • Ubirr (seasonal)
  • Bowali Visitor Centre
  • Walk to Gubara Springs
  • Nourlangie Rock (seasonal)
  • Overnight camp Kakadu (BLD)
Day #3 - Kakadu to Darwin
  • Cathedral Termite Mounds
  • Boulder Creek Falls
  • Hike to Motor Car Falls

Important Notes

Accommodation
-Permanent Campsites - have permanently erected tents (multi-share), permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets.

-Deluxe Camping: - Passengers can upgrade to deluxe tents (proper beds with linen, lighting & fans) for an additional AUD$100.00 per person twin share. Camping, permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets.

-Deluxe Campsite - Safari Accommodation (large permanent twin share tents) with proper beds, pillows, linen, towels, fans and lighting. Campsites have permanent cooking facilities, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets.

Baggage Allowance
Personal luggage is limited to an overnight bag maximum of 15kg and a day pack. Most Darwin accommodation will be happy to store any excess luggage you may have, some do charge a small fee.

Full payment is required for this tour at the time of booking.
Child Policy
Children 0-7 unable to travel, Children 8 -12 years, Child pay adult price for all NTK3 options.

Darwin accommodation 7:00am.

Extras
* Itinerary may vary according to Traditional Owner & National Park requirements, seasonal conditions & the closure of Twin & Jim Jim Falls. Attractions will be substituted with others of interest * Where accommodation is not available we reserve the right to use another property of similar or better quality. * Evening meals are BBQ-style camp dinners eaten together as a group * Park fee of $12.50 and fuel levy of $10 are payable on morning of departure. * Luggage limit of a backpack max 15kgs and a daypack. * Safaris must be reconfirmed by 4pm the day before travel.
Medical
Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking and exploring the wonders of Kakadu and Litchfield National parks.
National Parks
Some activities within Australia's National parks are dependant on the weather and observance of cultural traditions, therefore itineraries are subject to change.
Seasons
  • Climate Dry Season: (May - Oct) warm days, cool nights.
  • Climate Monsoonal Wet: (Nov-Apr - Sept) warm days, warm nights.
Tour Finishes at
Darwin accommodation approx 6.00-7.00pm.
Transportation
4WD Mitsubishi or Isuzu- 16, 17 or 20 seats front facing air-conditioned vehicle. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a better view for greater appreciation of the scenery.

What to bring
Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), swimming gear, hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $15), warm clothing in winter.

Experienced tour guide, meals as indicated, accommodation transfers, camping fees & equipment, wildlife boat cruise.
What's NOT included
$12.50 boat transfer fee (In Dry Season only), $10 fuel levy.
